Noah Kahan has made an unexpected plea to fans as he looks ahead to the rest of his Great Divide World Tour. In a recent social media post, the singer seemed to confirm some gross speculation surrounding his Friday night Philadelphia concert.
The whispers began when fans on social media shared footage from Citizens Bank Park claiming that someone near them had defecated on the floor. Other users who claimed to have witnessed the incident said that the individual was eventually ejected by security.
The news clearly reached Kahan’s ears by that night because after the show, he shared a backstage selfie that blurred out his pants, joking, “Holy s— Philly.”

He later quipped, “If that’s what tour is going to be like, I’m going to need to buy significantly more boxers.”
The following evening, Kahan addressed the alleged incident head-on, writing on X, “If you have to poop at a show please dear god just go to the bathroom lmao.”
He continued, “I’ve pooped my pants as much as the next 29 year old but you guys gotta understand there’s a venue worker out there with a 1000 yard stare after dealing with that.”
As fans responded with shock, disgust, and outrage, Kahan joked in a follow-up post, “I s–t myself onstage in Charlottesville but that’s because I am dedicated to my craft.”
The post earned a response from a user conveniently going by the name Turd Furguson, who wrote, “‘As much as the next 29 year old,’ should equate to f—ing ZERO, what the hell are you talking about??”
Kahan replied by subtly calling out their name, writing, “Okay Turd Ferguson.”

Unfortunately for artists, concertgoers and the general public, Kahan is not the first singer to remind fans that bathrooms do exist. Earlier this month, Olivia Rodrigo admitted that she has seen and smelled things that she wouldn’t mind erasing from her brain.
“I have been to certain concerts and certain festivals where people wear diapers so that they can be front row of the show,” she said during a visit to the U.K. radio show KISS Breakfast. “That’s been an experience of a performer that I have smelled and experienced.”

When the hosts rightfully expressed distressed, she confirmed, “It’s a real thing.”
In the case of Kahan’s concert, a diaper may have come in handy. Hopefully fans take the singer’s advice to heart as Kahan has several sold-out concert dates ahead as his tour stretches all the way through December. The “Willing and Able” singer is due to wrap up the North American leg in August before heading to Oceania in September and Europe in October.
The horrors committed by that one attendee aside, Kahan made sure to thank fans after his Philadelphia performance, writing on Instagram, “I’ve never stepped on a stage before and felt so numb by shock and disbelief. I cannot believe the energy and the community I saw last night. Thanks for making me cry Philly.”
