Lock Upp 2 went on air on Netflix a couple of days ago, and ever since the first episode, it’s been making headlines for the contestants, things that have been said, and of course, some equations — the good and bad. Hosts Farah Khan and Riteish Deshmukh have already been doing a good job of dealing with the contestants and giving them whatever reality checks are necessary. However, it looks like Kangana Ranaut will be joining the second season as a special guest.
Kangana Ranaut returns for Lock Upp 2
The first weekend of Lock Upp: Sach Ya Sazaa is going to be interesting, as Kangana Ranaut will be returning to the show, but as the ‘Janta Ki Awaaz’. As is clear from the name, the Janta Ki Awaaz will serve as a way for the housemates to get in touch with the public opinion around them. Now, what’s also interesting to see is what news she’ll come bearing for the housemates and if she’ll be instrumental in the termination of inmates?
Kangana also went on to share, “This show has always been about owning your truth, no matter how uncomfortable it is. Joining Farah and Riteish as the jury or the Janta Ki Awaaz this weekend for Lock Upp: Sach ya Sazaa’s very first termination, all I can say is every choice has a price!”
Everyone had thought we wouldn’t see Kangana in the show. At the launch, Ektaa Kapoor had talked about her absence. She said, “Ektaa said, “The entire format of the show, the whole vision changed and the demographic, the kind of jailer-judge format we had. Nothing of the original show has been kept. Neither the jailer nor the host, so keeping anything of the old would not bring the fresh presentation of the branding. So I am sure Kangana would have understood.”
She also spoke about bringing the reality show to Netflix, and added, “Over the years, I have created many television shows, but Lock Upp: Sach ya Sazaa occupies a space of its own. It strips away the filters and comforts, placing people in an environment where every decision, every relationship, and every secret has consequences. There’s nowhere to hide when you’re cut off from the outside world. This isn’t just another reality show; it’s a social experiment packed with entertainment, drama, and surprises at every turn. Bringing the show to Netflix opens up exciting new possibilities, allowing us to reimagine the experience on a much larger canvas.”
The show has had everyone hooked so far given the interesting lot of contestants as well as the fights and tasks that have been happening. Contestants include Sunita Ahuja, Ram Kapoor, Shivangi Joshi, Akanksha Choudhary, Harshad Chopda, Yogesh Rawat, Riyaz Ali, Dheeraj Dhoopar, Shreya Karla, Akanksha Chamola, Sreshta Iyer and Sufi Motiwala, among others.
The first episode of Lock Upp 2 aired on June 27, and the show will air episodes Saturday through Wednesday, at 8 pm.
