Here are Tuesday’s updates:
■ U.S. Central Command said it “successfully struck military targets across Iran including Bushehr, Chah Bahar, Jask, Konarak, Abu Musa, and Bandar Abbas.”
■ One Indian crew member was killed, and eight others were wounded, four seriously, after Iranian cruise missiles hit two Emirati tankers in the Strait of Hormuz, the UAE Defense Ministry said.
■ Iran’s IRGC said it targeted a U.S. air base in Jordan with ballistic missiles. Earlier, Jordan said it intercepted and downed four missiles that entered its airspace from Iran. In Bahrain, the IRGC also said it destroyed a Patriot radar, a U.S. air control radar and an early warning system.
■ U.S. President Donald Trump sent Congress a formal notification that hostilities against Iran resumed on July 7. According to his administration, this opens a new 60-day window to use the military in the region without congressional approval.
■ Iran rescued 23 foreign crew members after a bulk carrier collided with another vessel north of Qeshm Island in the Strait of Hormuz, the semi-official Fars news agency reported.
■ Some 100 Israelis raided the Palestinian village of Kifl Haris in the northern West Bank, near the Israeli settlement of Ariel, Israel Police said. Five Jerusalem residents aged 16-20 have been arrested, police said.
■ The IDF said it detained several Israeli civilians after they attempted to cross the border into Syria, calling the incident “a criminal offense that endangers both IDF soldiers and civilians.”
■ Nearly 50 lawmakers from Germany’s ruling Social Democrats and opposition Green and The Left parties, in a letter to Israeli President Isaac Herzog, urged Israel to ensure humane treatment of Palestinian doctors from Gaza held in Israeli custody.
