Sean “Diddy” Combs is letting go of his Miami mansion for a pretty penny.
The music mogul, 56, who is currently serving a 50-month federal prison sentence, has sold the waterfront property on the city’s upscale Star Island, according to documents obtained by USA TODAY. The buyer is listed as JFStar, a real estate company led by John A. Franklin, in what The Real Deal and TMZ reported was a $55 million off-market sale.
Records obtained by USA TODAY reveal the purchase was financed with an $18.5 million mortgage through San Diego-based Axos Bank. Ownership was signed June 26 and recorded July 13.

Combs bought the 8,000-square-foot estate – which sits on 1.3 acres of land and features 10 bedrooms and 12 bathrooms – from Gloria and Emilio Estefan in 2021. Records confirm Combs remains the owner of the property next door, which was the subject of a massive raid in 2024.
The search uncovered illegal drugs, weapons and more evidence that was used in the federal sex trafficking investigation into Combs.
Look back at Combs’ legal troubles
Combs was arrested in September 2024 and charged with sex trafficking, racketeering and transportation to engage in prostitution. He has denied all allegations of sexual misconduct.
A jury later found him guilty of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution but he was acquitted on charges of sex trafficking and racketeering. He was sentenced to 50 months behind bars and is still facing upwards of 70 civil lawsuits across the country.
Combs’ release date, which was initially set for April 25, 2028, has been moved up several times since he began serving his sentence. As of June, he is expected to be freed Feb. 23, 2028.
He and his legal team are also fighting to have the conviction and prison sentence overturned, arguing in part that he was only alleged to have watched his former girlfriends have sex with paid escorts but did not take part himself. The appeal is ongoing.
