More than half of Jews in the United States believe that Israel has committed war crimes in the Gaza Strip, and four out of ten even believe that its actions meet the definition of genocide, according to a survey published in the Washington Post. The findings, according to the newspaper, point to the possibility of a historic rupture in relations between American Jewry and Israel. 68% of respondents gave a negative rating to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The Jewish community itself is divided: 46% support the military operation in Gaza and 48% oppose it.
