New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani claimed that he and his wife are facing threats to their lives following their statements about Israel and the war in Gaza. “It’s hard to prepare for death threats, but when you’re willing to speak up for everyone, there are consequences,” Mamdani said in an interview with Rolling Stone magazine. “Even when I was a member of the state assembly and spoke about how it’s unacceptable that we’re sending billions of dollars to kill innocent Palestinians, I received voicemails that threatened me in a similar way.”
