The expressionless mask and ominous red glow from the visor heighten the character’s eeriness, but it’s his seven-fingered hand that signals he is far more than a wealthy villain with a Greek mythology obsession. Like the Court, the Minotaur manipulates events in Gotham from the shadows, quietly pulling strings that shape the city around him.
However, the Minotaur aligns more with Tom King’s Wonder Woman antagonist, the Sovereign (the secret king of the United States), given that he is a single individual rather than a secret society. Either way, the Minotaur has already established significant control, setting him up to be one of Batman’s most powerful and consequential villains to date, promising a story with serious stakes for the Dark Knight.
