After 60 years of being an organization, the Lititz Art Association will finally have a physical home.
The Lititz Art Association, which now has around 100 members, will operate Gallery 51, located at 51 N. Broad St., Lititz. It’s the former location of Savory Gourmet, a store that relocated to East Main Street in June.
“(The gallery’s) what I’ve dreamed about for this organization,” says Beth Kaylor Brunner, president of the Lititz Art Association. “We have such talented artists, and such a wide array, and they have so much to offer.”
The gallery will have its soft opening Friday, and will feature works of art from association members and nonmembers alike. Its grand opening is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 10.
There will also be a raffle for original artworks that will go on through September.
In addition to a gallery space, the nonprofit art association will be able to use the building to host classes, baby showers, bridal showers and more in the future.
The organization will lease the building for two years, with the option to extend the lease for another two years afterward, says Kaylor Brunner.
The Lititz Art Association would previously have its demonstrations at the Lititz Public Library, but the organization wanted a little more flexibility for their space and programming, Kaylor Brunner says.

“This allows us now to expand and try some new things,” Kaylor Brunner says.
The Lititz Art Association will continue to host its three art shows through the year, including the Lititz Parkwalk, the Holiday Gift Show and the Square Foot Show.
The Lititz Art Association was founded in 1966, though it was known as the Village Art Association until 2015.
