Israeli, 3 Palestinians shot and wounded in altercation near Havat Gilad settlement
An Israeli man and three Palestinians were injured in a shooting incident near the West Bank settlement of Havat Gilad, medics say.
Magen David Adom says it is treating one conscious Israeli after he was hit by gunfire in an area east of Havat Gilad.
The Palestinian Red Crescent says three Palestinians were seriously wounded by gunfire: a 19-year-old, a 34-year-old, and a 41-year-old.
The incident began as a group of Israelis was “hiking” near the Palestinian village of Tell, close to the settlement, according to the military.
The Israelis arrived at a mosque on the outskirts of the village, where they claim they were attacked by Palestinians.
A security officer from the settlement rushed to the scene, and at one point his weapon was snatched by a Palestinian, who then opened fire on the Israelis, injuring one, the IDF has found.
The injured man was taken to a hospital for treatment, and IDF troops were dispatched to the scene.
