There will have been much celebration among the royals as Princess Eugenie announced that she and her husband, Jack Brooksbank, welcomed a baby daughter in Portugal on 3 August. King Charles and Queen Camilla are said to be ‘delighted’ at the new addition to the family, who is a sixth grandchild for Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson.

But few members of the Firm will be as excited to celebrate with Princess Eugenie as her sister, Princess Beatrice, who was spotted buying a gift at Fortum & Mason in London on 30 July, just days before her sister gave birth.

It would be little wonder if Princess Beatrice were buying a gift to send to her younger sister, who welcomed the new baby in Lisbon, where she and her family own a property and spend part of their year. The pair are extremely close, Princess Eugenie’s two boys – Ernest, five, and August, three – spending plenty of time with Princess Beatrice’s children, Sienna, four, Athena, one, and Wolfie, 10.
