Today I learned two things. First, Jason Biggs is an admitted “foot guy.” Second, he is educated in niche shoe trends and knows how to pronounce “Alaïa.” Good for him, I think?

So here’s how we got there. On Thursday, the American Pie actor appeared on the Thanks Dad podcast hosted by Ego Nwodim. At one point in the conversation, Biggs mentioned he was “hyperaware” of fashion trends, including the rise of the Alaïa ballet flat, which he is a little late to but happens to like very much. As for Yves Saint Laurent’s “flip-flop heel”? Not a fan. “I don’t like the silhouette,” he said. “It’s not aesthetically appealing to me.” But the most offensive trend of all in Biggs’s eyes is having your toes out in a dirty city like New York. “Close that toe!” he added. “It’s time for you to start rocking close-toed shoes.”

Biggs pays such close attention to women’s shoe trends for one simple, if freaky, reason: He likes feet. “I appreciate feet,” the 48-year-old explained. “I think feet can be sexy.” When asked if he kisses his wife’s feet (Nwodim was presumably referring to his soon-to-be ex-wife, Jenny Mollen), he nodded yes.

Biggs refused to admit he regularly visits Wikifeet, to which Nwodim laughed, “You fucking liar! Guilty as fuck.” But as much as he seems to admire other people’s feet, he finds his own toes just “okay.” He whipped one of his dogs out in the studio, considered it, and declared that his foot was “good, not bad.” He is, however, into mani-pedis — no polish, just a thorough scrub. For Nwodim and her production team’s sake, that is great news.

All things considered, this interview could have gone a lot worse, especially considering it came from a soon-to-be-divorced guy. After two decades together, Biggs and Mollen reportedly broke off their marriage in May. But the following month, Mollen said that they talk “18 times a day” and admitted their relationship was still romantic. If I was in the middle of all that, I’d probably start fixating on feet, too.
