The Water Authority reported that stormy weather led to severe turbidity in seawater and the temporary shutdown of some of Israel’s private desalination facilities. Following shortages in recent hours, the authority ordered a reduction in freshwater supply to agriculture in the southern region. The Water Authority clarified that this is not a cyber incident. Mekorot Water Company has increased available production capacity, which includes about 20 local facilities. According to estimates, some of the facilities are expected to resume operations soon.
