Tomer Food, the small importer that has been on a roller coaster in recent weeks, its shares suspended from trading, has a special connection to the top of the defense establishment. Orna Zamir, the wife of IDF Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir, serves as a director at the company, whose largest client is the Defense Ministry – the ministry Zamir headed as director general until last year, and which also manages the IDF budget. The chief of staff has not yet signed a conflict-of-interest arrangement covering Tomer Food.
