There was another unsettling Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) cliffhanger in Friday’s (4 September 2026) episode of Coronation Street – and the plot thickened with a new mystery.
Kit went on a date with the calculating Jodie Ramsey (Olivia Frances Brown), which was witnessed by an unimpressed Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon).
Bethany and Kit are living together in her mum Sarah’s (Tina O’Brien) flat, despite Sarah having ended her relationship with Kit while she awaits trial for the murder of Theo Silverton (James Cartwright).
A distracted Kit was quizzed by Bethany as to whether he and Jodie were going to be a regular thing now, and she put pressure on him to break the news to Sarah’s young son Harry (Joshua Leavy).

Later, Kit apologised to Bethany for being snappy and promised to talk to Harry – but she explained she had done it herself and that Harry was fine with him dating.
Meanwhile, Jodie continued to mess with her stressed sister Shona Platt’s (Julia Goulding) head, and Shona was horrified to later realise she had left baby Harper in the car.

Jodie played the hero by offering to look after Harper while an exhausted Shona had a nap, but Shona was taken aback to emerge refreshed and find Jodie all dressed up, and entertaining Kit at the house while on auntie duty!
Shona took it upon herself to knock back the wine and play gooseberry as she made Jodie and Kit squirm with some blatant comments about how disastrous this romance could be.
Later, we saw Kit back at the flat alone, where a wine glass sat abandoned with lipstick marks on it.
It appears that Kit has had a fling – but who with? Was Jodie with him after their awkward evening, or has he been with another woman?
Kit is increasingly troubled as he harbours a secret following the news that his maternal family line needs to be tested for the BRCA gene.
Coronation Street has already confirmed that Kit will be diagnosed with breast cancer in scenes set to air next week.
