Celebrity Traitors Season 2 is heading back to the castle with 21 famous faces. However, this season may have a very different energy from the first. Richard Osman, the TV presenter and co-host of The Rest Is Entertainment, has shared an “intense” update about the new series. The former finalist Joe Marler hinted that the pressure could be much higher this time.

During a live edition of The Rest Is Entertainment at London’s Southbank Centre on Saturday, Osman and journalist Marina Hyde were joined by season 1 finalist Joe Marler.
Osman said that, based on what he had heard from people involved in the upcoming series, filming “was quite intense.”
According to The Guardian, Marler appeared to agree, suggesting that the second season had a noticeably different atmosphere from his own experience.
“I believe it was a slightly different emotion than our experience. Ours was very laugh-led, and everyone was sort of enjoying catching up, you know, pratting about to the point where they went, ‘Guys we’re trying to play a game.'”
He explained that the new group seemed much more focused on winning from the beginning.
“It’s not just for the laughs, ‘Oh do you remember going to that party darling?'” Marler said.
“Whereas this lot really want it from the start.”
He added that the success of the first season may have created extra pressure for the new contestants. “I guess they see how well the first series has gone and there’s a little bit of pressure on them to be like, ‘Oh I’d quite like a bit of that.'”
The upcoming series will feature 21 celebrities competing for up to £100,000 for charity in a Scottish Highlands castle. The cast includes James Acaster, James Blunt, Maya Jama, Michael Sheen, Miranda Hart, Romesh Ranganathan and Ross Kemp.
Osman also appeared to confirm that the series will premiere on September 23, although the date was reportedly under embargo.
The first season of The Celebrity Traitors became a major ratings success, with its finale attracting 15.4 million viewers.
