RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) – The Fall River County Sheriff’s Office says dispatch received a call last week about a mountain lion entering someone’s home.
The incident happened Tuesday night in the Cottonwood Springs Dam area.
The sheriff’s office is sharing tips to help keep wildlife from entering homes. It says residents should keep windows, doors and pet doors closed each night.
The sheriff’s office also recommends securing trash cans with tight-fitting lids, covering window wells, installing outdoor lighting, sealing crawl spaces, screening vents and keeping fireplace dampers shut.
There is no word on what happened with the mountain lion or if it is still nearby.
