The IDF and Shin Bet (ISA) eliminated Muhammad Yazouri, commander of Hamas’ military wing’s Khan Younis Brigade, in a precise strike in the Khan Younis area on Thursday night, the IDF announced.
Yazouri was appointed commander of the brigade after serving in several senior positions within it, including deputy commander of the Khan Younis Brigade, commander of its Combat Support Battalion, and head of the brigade’s Intelligence Department.
According to the IDF, Yazouri was responsible for managing the activities of terrorists in the brigade and directing them to carry out attacks against IDF troops and Israeli civilians.
In recent months, Yazouri worked to advance dozens of attacks against IDF troops and sought to rebuild the brigade’s force buildup capabilities, which had suffered significant damage throughout the war.
Two additional Hamas terrorists were eliminated in the same strike: Hudheifa Muammar, a company commander, and Muhammad Bahjat Rashi, a member of Hamas’ military wing in the Khan Younis Brigade.
The IDF stated that prior to the strike, steps were taken to mitigate harm to civilians, including the use of precise munitions and aerial surveillance.
“IDF troops under the Southern Command remain deployed in the area in accordance with the agreement and will continue to operate to remove any immediate threat,” the military concluded.
