EXCLUSIVE: Quiver Distribution has acquired U.S. rights to Oscar-nominated Canadian director Jérémy Comte film feature Paradise.
The Canada-France-Ghana co-production had its world premiere in the Panorama section of the Berlinale earlier this year. Quiver is planning to release the film in the U.S. this winter.
WME and Global Constellation, a Vuelta company, negotiated the deal on behalf of the filmmakers.
The transatlantic drama thriller revolves around two teenagers living thousands miles apart, one on the streets of Accra in Ghana, the other in a Quebec suburb, whose lives become unexpectedly intertwined through their searches for the truth about their absent fathers.
In Ghana, Kojo is drawn into a world of street gangs and deception following his father’s disappearance at sea. Meanwhile in Quebec, Tony discovers his mother’s relationship with a mysterious sailor who may hold the key to finding the father he has never met.
The film marks the feature debut of Canadian filmmaker Jérémy Comte, whose acclaimed short FAUVE was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Live Action Short Film and won the Special Jury Prize at Sundance.

Comte first made waves with Fauve which was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Live Action Short Film and won the Special Jury Prize at Sundance.
He recently wrapped principal photography on his second feature, Eléo & Nova, produced by Roger Frappier (The Power of the Dog).
The survival drama follows four siblings left alone in a remote Canadian country house as a heatwave, power outage and mysterious lights turn their newfound freedom into something increasingly unsettling. Global Constellation handles international sales, with the film set to be submitted for festival consideration in 2027.
Paradise is written by Comte and Will Niava and stars Daniel Atsu Hukporti, Joey Boivin-Desmeules and Évelyne de la Chenelière.
The film is produced by Tim Ringuette of Entract Studios, Anne-Marie Gélinas of EMAfilms and Westerhoff under the banner of Constellation Productions, with Noah Segal and Christina Piovesan of Elevation Pictures.
Global Constellation handles international sales. Elevation Pictures is releasing the film in Canada, while Tandem Films released the film theatrically in France in August.
