On Thursday, 50 Cent posted a clip from Shyne’s appearance on Today With Jenna & Sheinelle, where the Brooklyn rapper reflected on squashing his decadeslong beef with his onetime rival.

“I happened to be at Serafina’s having dinner,” Shyne recalled. “Michael Blackson was having dinner in the back, and 50 was having a dinner for his spirits brand. And so when 50 walks in, [photographer] Johnny [Nunez] is like, ‘50, Shyne is over there.’”

“So we’ve kind of patched things up over time, because in my incarnation of an elder statesman, I believe I should be bringing people together in hip-hop and in life,” he continued. “So I’ve offered olive branches to anyone that I may have had any issues with.”

Following Shyne’s interview, 50 reposted the clip and praised the former Belizean opposition leader for his growth.

“I’m not gonna front Shyne impresses me. World leader. He’s shown nothing but growth,” 50 wrote on Instagram. “When I get some free time I’ll come to your country. You see how that sounds.”

Shyne exclusively sent Billboard a statement in response to 50’s post. “Music/Film Mogul/Entrepreneur and World Leader/Entertainer coming together is the epitome of Hip Hop at 53! Grateful to be instrumental in the evolution of the culture,” he said.

50 Cent and Shyne lyrically sparred throughout the early 2000s through diss records and even prank calls. After decades of verbal skirmishes, the surprise link-up between two of New York’s storied rappers this week appears to have finally put their long-running feud to rest.
