Paraguay is expected to plant up to 3.7M ha of soyabeans in 2026/27, according to an ABC report citing Association of Soy Producers (APS) data.

Speaking at the launch of the country’s soyabean campaign, APS president Lindemar Cesca said although the outlook was positive in terms of climate, the sector faced economic and geopolitical challenges.

Cesca also highlighted the technological progress achieved by Paraguayan producers and the sector’s ability to incorporate new tools aimed at improving efficiency and productivity.

Records from the Paraguayan Grains and Oilseed Traders Association (CAPECO) showed that in 2025/26, 3.407M ha of soyabeans were planted, with an estimated production of 11.5M tonnes and an average yield of 3,374kg/ha.

For the 2026/27 campaign, CAPECO’s initial estimates forecast a planted area of 3.6-3.7M/ha, the 6 September ABC
report said.
