PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) – Phil and Penny Knight are donating $1.1 billion to Providence St. Vincent Medical Center and the Providence Heart Institute, marking one of the largest healthcare-focused philanthropic gifts in U.S. history.
Providence announced Tuesday that the funding will establish Oregon’s first hospital dedicated specifically to women’s health while expanding cardiac care programs and patient support services.
Officials scheduled a formal announcement for 11 a.m. Tuesday to outline details of the investment and project timelines.
