I’m seeing a fair few HP Omen gaming laptops hit low prices on Amazon recently, through PCOnline US, and I think if you’re after a quality RTX 5060 model for less, then now is a good time to grab one. Take this HP Omen 16 gaming laptop, for instance, which is sitting at its lowest price in 30 days on Amazon right now at $1,649.00, with 11% off. It’s a very good option for FHD gaming in particular, and it’s not overly specced (or overly expensive) either.

In this configuration, you’ve got an RTX 5060 paired with a Ryzen 7 350 processor. This CPU packs 8 cores and 16 threads, so it’s not a bad shout for multitasking and productivity. It also has a 5GHz boost clock speed and 16MB L3 cache. Again, not bad, and entirely appropriate for the RTX 5060’s capabilities, too. For RAM, you’ve got 16GB of DDR5, which will help improve gaming and multitasking performance, and its storage is a decent 1TB. Plenty of room if you don’t plan on building an enormous gaming library, and a fair whack less expensive than a 2TB SSD, especially nowadays.
The screen here is excellent. It’s a bright 400-nit display, which is going to be good for well-lit environments, and since it’s IPS, you’re getting wider viewing angles, too. It’s 165Hz and 1200p, which is bang-on on the money for the RTX 5060. Expect smooth motion handling at high frame rates, ideal for fast-paced gaming on the go.

There are a few more bells and whistles here, too. You’ve got a numeric keypad with 4-zone RGB, which is both practical and stylish. It also weighs in at 5.4 lbs, which is not bad for portability, and shouldn’t weigh you down when traveling.
What we like about this HP Omen 16 gaming laptop
Hits the sweet spot from a price-to-performance perspective
You’re not overspending on components that are simply overkill for the RTX 5060 mobile here. Its CPU, screen, RAM, and SSD are all excellent for gaming, and you’re getting something with outstanding build quality and aesthetics, too.
Ideal for gaming and productivity
While I wouldn’t call this a workstation laptop, it is still a very capable machine for handling demanding productivity tasks and relatively heavy multitasking.
