While talking to Maniesh Paul, he said, “I used to perform in orchestras and at wedding shows because I had a passion for singing. I was a singer, so I would observe people around me, like the sound guys and anchors, and copy the way they spoke and behaved. When I performed on stage for the first time, I sang Kishore Kumar’s song ‘Pak Ghungroo Bandh Meera Naachi Thi.’ I was very young, but I would imitate his style. Later, I also started mimicking the voices of singers like Shabbir Kumar, Mohammed Aziz and Gurdas Maan. People liked it, so I continued doing it. By observing and imitating different people, I learned a lot and got many ideas for creating characters.” (Photo: Instagram)
