Liam Neeson has made a name for himself over a long career in action movies. If you can think of a ridiculously dangerous situation, chances are Neeson has faced it on screen. Whether it is criminal organizations, runaway planes, trains, or automobiles, the action star hasn’t found a perilous situation that he can’t fight his way out of. Now, to promote the release of Neeson’s newest action thriller, the studio behind the movie has partnered with Collider to deliver an exciting new look at the feature, titled The Mongoose.

The Mongoose follows Ryan “Fang” Flanagan (Neeson), a war hero who is framed for the murder of his ex-wife by her abusive boyfriend. With the authorities hunting him down, Flanagan is forced to go on the run as the police try to chase him down. What follows is a cross-country chase movie that lets Neeson do what he does best: play an action hero whose skills are vastly underestimated. To aid in his escape, Flanagan uses a 1965 Shelby Cobra as his means of transportation. The supporting cast also includes Marisa Tomei, Ving Rhames, Michael Chiklis, and Maurice Marvel Meredith. Collider’s exclusive clip of the movie can be seen below:

The exclusive clip highlights the movie’s tension, turning something as mundane as putting gas in into a race against time to keep Flanagan from being found out by the police, who are hot on his trail. Interestingly, The Mongoose is the directorial debut of Mark Vanselow, who has served as Neeson’s long-time stunt double. It’s a similar situation to that of Chad Stahelski and Keanu Reeves, as Stahelski served as the actor’s stunt double in The Matrix before directing Reeves in the John Wick franchise. Vanselow is no stranger to the action and stunts he and Neeson have done throughout their careers, adding a new layer of authenticity to The Mongoose.

Part of the appeal of this upcoming action thriller is that the premise keeps Neeson’s character in motion. Because Flanagan has to keep moving to stay one step ahead of the police, The Mongoose is sure to feature unique action pieces that highlight the predicament the character finds himself in. Another aspect that makes this action film more interesting is that Flanagan won’t be alone in his fight, with Collider’s report revealing that the actors previously mentioned are all playing some sort of ally from his past days as a war hero.

Liam Neeson has kept busy this year, starring in movies such as Cold Storage, The Fix, and the upcoming movie 4 Kids Walk Into a Bank. The Mongoose marks Neeson’s return to the kind of desperate fight for survival that has defined so much of his action career. However, having a longtime collaborator take the reins behind the camera should make for a more interesting entry in Neeson’s vast filmography. The movie hits theaters on October 30, offering audiences another option during a season that is mostly associated with horror movies and thrillers. With Vanselow directing The Mongoose, Neeson may have discovered an exciting evolution in their creative partnership.
