Some Fujifilm shooters develop apps, others work on Netflix productions, and some win (or even launch) photography competitions. Photos taken with Fujifilm cameras find their way into the prestigious Pirelli Calendar, while Fujifilm’s sexy cameras even make cameo appearances in popular TV shows.

There’s a lot happening in the world of Fujifilm beyond new camera releases and firmware updates. So it’s time to catch up and shine a spotlight on the projects, achievements, and creative work of fellow Fujifilm shooters from around the world.

We start with the FujiFanBoys photography competition. You can enter by sharing your images and you’ll have to chance to win Fujifilm X and GFX lenses among the others. The jury is made of well-known photographers like Elia Locardi, Russel Wong, Bert Stephani, Charlene Winfred and more. All details, how to enter, prizes, etc, here.

Winner of the Bavaria 2024 press photo competition

I am very pleased to inform you that my photo from the series ‘Together against the Far right’ has won this year’s ‘Pressefoto Bayern’ competition. The winner photos was taken with a Fuji X-H2 and 16-55mm.

A total of 1130 photos were submitted. The main prize is endowed with 2500 euros. The exhibition with a selection of the winning photos can be seen in the cloister of the Maximilianeum of the Bavarian State Parliament until 6 January 2025. After that, the exhibition will be shown in various Bavarian cities until the end of 2025.

The jury explains its decision as follows:

‘Through its composition and colour aesthetics, the press photo of the year 2024 underlines the proximity to the protests in the early 1930s against the NSDAP before it seized power. Only the demonstrators’ clothing reveals the contemporary reference. The picture combines history and the present in a frightening way.

And the Münchner Merkur of the weekend of 30 November / 1 December 2024 went on to say

‘Roemke had opted for a cinematic design reduced to three colours in order to achieve greater selectivity…. .’

I have placed further and previously unpublished pictures on my website and I invite you to visit them: www.raymondroemke.com/news/gemeinsam-gegen-rechts
