Charlie D’Amelio caught the admiration of some pretty famous children.

While chatting with The Hollywood Reporter for their video series “Hollywood Firsts,” the TikTok star, 22, shared the story of how she met her first celebrity fan. D’Amelio, who rose to fame with her viral dance tutorials, revealed that Beyoncé and Jay-Z‘s daughters were her first big celebrity followers.

“Someone had reached out because they wanted me to do a FaceTime call with their daughter,” she shared, continuing, “and, in the background is Beyoncé.”

“She’s like, ‘You know, just don’t take all her time,’ ” D’Amelio added. “And I’m like, ‘You take as much time as you need. I’m here. Whatever.'”

Beyoncé and Jay-Z, who wed in 2008, welcomed their first child, daughter Blue Ivy, in 2012. Five years later, they were joined by twins Rumi and Sir in 2017. While the superstar couple may thrive in the limelight, they have worked hard to give their children a life as close to normalcy as possible.

“One thing I’ve worked extremely hard on is making sure my kids can have as much normalcy and privacy as possible, ensuring my personal life isn’t turned into a brand,” Beyoncé told GQ in October 2024. “I have made an extreme effort to stay true to my boundaries and protect myself and my family. No amount of money is worth my peace.”

In recent years, the proud mom and dad have started letting their daughters take the stage with them during performances.

During the rapper’s sold-out concert at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, Calif., on Friday, Oct. 23 — the first of two weekend shows in celebration of the 30th anniversary of his debut album, Reasonable Doubt, and the 25th anniversary of The Blueprint — Blue Ivy made a surprise appearance onstage.

Video footage showed the teen joining her father, 56, to help him perform “The Story of OJ” and “Dead Presidents.”

Blue Ivy sat at the keyboard to accompany her dad, wearing a pink-and-blue leather jacket, lots of gold jewelry and some glittery blue makeup. After the pair’s heartfelt duet ended, Blue Ivy hugged before bowing, blowing kisses to the crowd and flashing a peace sign as she walked off.

Blue Ivy and Rumi were also recently photographed alongside their mom as she, her Destiny’s Child bandmate Kelly Rowland, and her mom Tina Knowles celebrated the opening of their Knowles-Rowland House in their hometown of Houston on Oct. 13.

They were joined by loved ones and community members as they officially opened the 31-unit permanent supportive housing facility, which was redeveloped after damage from Hurricane Harvey in 2017.

Blue Ivy wore a trendy green jersey top with gray jeans and dark heels as she stood between the “Crazy in Love” singer and Rowland. The teen, who wore her hair up in a ponytail, could be seen holding a pair of scissors as she helped cut the ribbon for the ceremony.

Rumi stood in front of Blue Ivy and Beyoncé in a black dress paired with a black sweater featuring white trim as her mother placed her arms around her. She had her hair styled up in a ponytail like her sister, though she opted for sneakers instead of heels.
