The Eisenkot bloc parties issued a joint statement following their leaders’ meeting on Tuesday, saying they “are fully coordinated and will act immediately to replace the October 7 government with a national emergency government, making use of the clear parliamentary majority in the Knesset.”

Yashar’s Eisenkot, Together party leader Naftali Bennett, Together candidate Yair Lapid, Yisrael Beiteinu’s Avigdor Lieberman and the Democrats’ Yair Golan met earlier on Tuesday at Dan Accadia Hotel in Herzliya in their first talks since last week’s election.

The joint statement said they made “an action plan ahead of the swearing-in of the 26th Knesset and the swift formation of the 38th government.” All party heads would recommend Eisenkot to receive the president’s mandate to form a government, the statement said, adding that the parties would immediately begin drafting the principles guiding the next government.

“The party leaders are aligned on the need to establish a Zionist government based on the four principles outlined by Eisenkot, as soon as possible,” the statement said, noting that they are committed to fulfilling the will of the voters “who voted sharply and clearly for change and against the continuation of the current government.”

The five leaders also “discussed the dangerous and unhinged delegitimization campaign being waged by Likud and Netanyahu against the election results and the Central Elections Committee, expressing their uncompromising commitment to protecting the election outcomes and the democratic process,” the statement said, referring to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s efforts to cast doubt on the election results.
