TTArtisan has introduced a new 17mm f4 tilt shift lens designed for full-frame and medium-format mirrorless cameras. It offers ±8° tilt, ±8mm shift and a large 64mm image circle. The lens launches for Sony E and Fujifilm GFX mounts at around $509, or roughly €579 in Europe.
With this release, TTArtisan makes perspective control more accessible to photographers and filmmakers who need precise in-camera adjustments without the cost of traditional tilt-shift systems. Its ultra-wide field of view and mechanical control make it suitable for architecture, interior, and product photography alike.

The TTArtisan 17mm f4 tilt shift allows users to correct converging lines or creatively adjust the focus plane directly while shooting. Its ±8° tilt changes the angle of the focal plane, enabling extended focus for architecture or selective blur for creative compositions. Meanwhile, the ±8mm shift helps straighten verticals when capturing tall buildings or structured interiors.
The lens can rotate 360 degrees for flexible orientation of tilt or shift functions, letting users fine-tune compositions from any angle.
Coverage and mount options
Thanks to a generous 64mm image circle, the lens covers both full-frame and Fujifilm GFX sensors without heavy vignetting. The TTArtisan 17mm f4 tilt shift is initially available for Sony E and GFX mounts, with Nikon Z, Canon RF and L-Mount versions expected later.

The optical design includes 17 elements in 11 groups, featuring aspherical glass to minimize distortion and chromatic aberrations. The manual aperture ring controls a 10-blade diaphragm from f4 to f16, while the minimum focus distance is 0.3 meters.
At about 1,055 grams, the lens feels solid and well balanced. Its all-metal housing and 105mm front filter thread underscore its robust, mechanical design. Some early listings note that tilt and shift adjustments cannot be made simultaneously, so precise planning is required during use.

With a price tag of around $509 (about €579), the TTArtisan 17mm f4 tilt shift comes in well below the cost of Canon’s and Nikon’s proprietary tilt-shift lenses. It offers a similar ultra-wide field of view to Canon’s TS-E 17mm f4L but with a smaller shift range. For most creators, however, it provides ample flexibility at a fraction of the price.
For stills and motion work
Although the lens is primarily built for stills, filmmakers can also benefit from optical perspective control when shooting architectural B-roll, product scenes or miniatures. The large front diameter may challenge matte box setups, but its creative versatility makes it an intriguing tool for on-location or studio use.
