According to a news release, the deal “ensures that individuals and families with UnitedHealthcare coverage can continue receiving high-quality care at Ascension Wisconsin hospitals, clinics and outpatient facilities without disruption.According to an Ascension spokesman in an email to WISN 12 News, the deal is effective immediately. Additionally, “Ascension held claims for services furnished between October 1 to October 13. Services received during that period will be covered at in-network rates, and patients should not be billed for out-of-network costs,” the spokesperson said.A previous contract ended Oct. 1, and patients as recently as Monday reported scheduling backups as they try to find new providers.Ascension said the new deal is effective immediately on Tuesday.
