“Euphoria,” HBO’s gritty drama about a wayward group of California teens, has added a new batch of A-list actors to its much-anticipated third season, according to a casting announcement shared Friday, Oct. 17.
Among the fresh faces are Emmy-nominated actress Natasha Lyonne, social media personality Trisha Paytas, “Till” star Danielle Deadwyler, “Inglourious Basterds” actor Eli Roth and Homer Gere, son of Golden Globe-winning actor Richard Gere.
“Euphoria” has been teasing its star-studded third season since February, when the Emmy-winning show confirmed that stars Zendaya and Hunter Schafer would be reprising their respective roles of Rue Bennett and Jules Vaughn.
Previously announced cast additions include Spanish pop singer RosalÃa, “Basic Instinct” star Sharon Stone, NFL veteran Marshawn Lynch and Zendaya’s “K.C. Undercover” costar Kadeem Hardison.
The new season of “Euphoria,” which is expected to be released next year, comes after the show reportedly faced a series of production delays, including the 2023 Hollywood actors and screenwriters strikes. In March 2024, HBO announced that it was permitting the series’ cast to pursue other acting jobs amid the long wait for Season 3.
“HBO and (creator) Sam Levinson remain committed to making an exceptional third season,” a network spokesperson told USA TODAY at the time. “In the interim, we are allowing our in-demand cast to pursue other opportunities.”
