Hilary Duff is plotting her return to music a decade after her last release.
The “Lizzie McQuire” star hinted that she was working on “new music … or something” in an Instagram post Tuesday, Sept. 9.
The post also included photos of Duff in the studio with her husband and producer Matthew Koma.
“We’re so ready for new music,” the official Barbie Instagram commented on Duff’s post.
“Dreams are coming true,” the official Disney+ Instagram commented.
Variety noted that Duff signed a record deal with Atlantic Records. The singer/actress is also working on a new docuseries that chronicles her journey back to music and explores her personal life.
Duff’s new music will be her first since her 2015 album, “Breathe In. Breathe Out.” Duff first burst onto the music scene with her 2003 album “Metamorphosis” that topped Billboard 200 and has gone on to sell more than 4 million copies, according to the RIAA. She followed up with “Hilary Duff” in 2004 and “Dignity” in 2007. Duff’s most popular songs include “Come Clean,” “So Yesterday,” “Wake Up” and “With Love.”
Over the past decade, Duff has shifted more toward acting. She appeared in “Younger” from 2015 through 2021 before joining “How I Met Your Father,” which lasted for two seasons.
In May, Koma also teased his wife’s return to music by sharing a photo of Duff in the studio, with the caption asking Duff to “please go save millennial pop music, it needs you now more than ever.”
