Kody Brown<\/a> was married to four women at the same time, but when it comes to his kids, he firmly believes in chastity.<\/p>\n

\u201cI say to these young men, almost always your job is to protect my daughter, even from yourself,\u201d Kody said during the Sunday, October 26, episode of Sister Wives<\/a> after meeting 23-year-old daughter Aurora<\/a>\u2019s new boyfriend, Brodie Utley, for the first time.<\/p>\n

Kody, 56, revealed that from his perspective, \u201cWhen you\u2019re just dating, you\u2019re kissing another man\u2019s wife until she\u2019s your wife. And if she doesn\u2019t become your wife, you\u2019re kissing another man\u2019s wife.\u201d<\/p>\n

The father of 18 further explained, \u201cThis is the reason that I believe in chastity \u2026 don\u2019t take something away from them that doesn\u2019t belong to you.\u201d<\/p>\n

During the episode, Kody grilled Brodie over his ability to watch over Aurora, whom he had been dating for just a few months. (Brodie and Aurora celebrated one year of dating in September, according to social media<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you love my daughter, then you\u2019ll love her as much as I loved her mother, and I kept my hands off of her till we were married,\u201d Kody claimed during a confessional, referring to fourth wife Robyn Brown<\/a>, who is Aurora\u2019s mom.<\/p>\n

Robyn shares Aurora, Dayton, 25, and Breanna, 21<\/a>, with her first husband. She also shares son Solomon, 13, and daughter Ariella, 9, with Kody, whom she legally wed in 2014<\/a> after becoming spiritually united four years prior. After Robyn and Kody got legally married, he adopted her eldest children.<\/p>\n

Kody told the cameras on Sunday\u2019s episode, \u201cWhen we were older, I had an outlet. I [was] still loving [on] my wives, but we didn\u2019t have a real physical connection<\/a> until we were married.\u201d (He was married to Meri Brown<\/a>, Janelle Brown<\/a> and Christine Brown<\/a> when he began courting Robyn, 47.)<\/p>\n

Aurora, meanwhile, continued to decorate the family Christmas tree as her boyfriend was interrogated by her dad.<\/p>\n

\u201cI just think it\u2019s funny because after a while it\u2019s clear that my dad\u2019s talking about chastity, kind of,\u201d Aurora said. \u201cAnd I can tell that Brodie\u2019s very much thinking about tactics. \u2018I know how to use knives. I\u2019m trained in mixed martial arts. She\u2019s good, sir.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Kody proceeded to tell Brodie that the \u201cbest kind of relationship\u201d is one where if you break up you can \u201cstill be friends\u201d because you didn\u2019t cross the intimacy line.<\/p>\n

\u201cI feel like I\u2019m more discriminating now than I was with [Mykelti\u2019s husband<\/a>] Tony. Than I was with [Aspyn\u2019s husband] Mitch, and than I was with [Maddie\u2019s husband<\/a>] Caleb,\u201d Kody confessed. \u201cI just was less discriminating. Now it\u2019s a totally different story. I\u2019ve gone through three divorces.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kody\u2019s family \u2014 which includes 18 total children\u2014 was thrust into the spotlight in September 2010 when Sister Wives premiered. At the time, Kody was courting his fourth wife, Robyn, [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n

Kody added that when his eldest daughters got married, he was in a different headspace. He shares Mykelti, 29, and Aspyn, 30, with Christine, as well as four other kids, and shares Maddie, 29, with Janelle, who mothered six of his kids.<\/p>\n

After splitting from Christine, 53, Janelle, 56, and Meri, 54, in 2021, 2022 and 2023, respectively, he has become more critical of who comes into his kids\u2019 lives.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe problem was in the culture I came from, if at 22 I\u2019m going steady with somebody, it\u2019s because we\u2019re going to get married,\u201d Kody recalled. \u201cJust every experience that I had was like, I knew within a few days, maybe a few weeks of dating that it was good or not. And then later on in my life, 25, 30 years later, I was like, \u2018Oh, that wasn\u2019t a good idea.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
