\n\tFormer \u201cDancing with the Stars<\/a>\u201d pro Maks Chmerkovskiy is taking issue with the show\u2019s recruitment of Taylor Swift\u2019s dancer Jan Ravnik. He said during a recent appearance on \u201cThe Penthouse with Peta\u201d podcast<\/a> that Ravnik has \u201cabsolutely no business being a pro\u201d on the long-running competition series.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThere\u2019s zero foundation, technique, quality, understanding of the partnership,\u201d Chmerkovskiy said. \u201cBro, I\u2019m getting emotional. It is absurd, and this is unreal how blind we have to be, and God forbid say what\u2019s obviously there.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tChmerkovskiy first joined \u201cDancing with the Stars\u201d on Season 2, and went on to compete as a pro in a total of 17 non-consecutive seasons. Ravnik joined the show for Season 34 and is paired with Jen Affleck.<\/p>\n

\n\tLater in the discussion, Chmerkovskiy explained he was particularly offended by Ravnik\u2019s performance during \u201cWicked\u201d night on Oct. 21.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cHe had no idea what foxtrot is supposed to look like,\u201d he claimed. \u201cHow are you going to expect him to teach it and deliver that message in a format that is completely different from even ballroom dancing? We had this criticism weeks ago, and I\u2019m like, \u2018Bro, is anybody going to explain it to him?’\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tChmerkovskiy added that he has \u201czero against\u201d Ravnik as a person, but called his hiring a \u201cmissed opportunity.\u201d Podcast host and fellow former \u201cDancing with the Stars\u201d pro Peta Murgatroyd agreed, adding that it was \u201coutrageous\u201d that Ravnik was hired despite his perceived lack of ballroom dancing experience.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThey hired him. He\u2019s a Taylor Swift dancer. It\u2019s the obvious reason why he is hired,\u201d she added. \u201cApart from that, he\u2019s a lovely guy. He looks great. He obviously is a great dancer.
