The trailer for \u201cFrontier Crucible,\u201d a Western thriller starring Armie Hammer, has been released. The film marks Hammer\u2019s return to acting since stepping away from the film industry following multiple sexual assault allegations in 2021.<\/p>\n
The claims against Hammer, including allegations <\/a>of physical abuse and rape, were made by several women in 2021. As previously reported, an LAPD investigation<\/a> was conducted with no charges filed.\u00a0Despite Hammer denying the allegations and maintaining the relationships were entirely consensual, his career was derailed, causing him to be in Hollywood exile for three years.<\/p>\n More from Variety<\/p>\n Hammer returned to acting last year after booking \u201cFrontier Crucible,\u201d in which is stars opposite William H. Macy. The cast also includes Myles Clohessy, Mary Stickley, Eli Brown, Ryan Masson, Zane Holtz, Eddie Spears and Thomas Jane.<\/p>\n Based on Harry Whittington\u2019s novel \u201cDesert Stake-Out,\u201d the film centers on \u201ca desperately needed wagon full of medical supplies falling victim to an Apache attack. The only man who can guide it through to its destination is Merrick Beckford, but in order to get there, he\u2019ll need to enlist the help of a trio of dangerous outlaws hell-bent on survival,\u201d the official synopsis reads.\u00a0\u201cWhen they accidentally kill an Apache scout, all bets are off, and survival is the name of the game.\u201d<\/p>\n From \u201cBone Tomahawk\u201d and \u201cDragged Across Concrete\u201d producer Dallas Sonnier, the film comes from Sonnier\u2019s Bonfire Legend banner and will be directed by Travis Mills (\u201cThe Pendragon Cycle\u201d).<\/p>\n \u201cFrontier Crucible\u201d hits theaters and becomes available digitally on Dec. 5.
