\n\tA ninth Gorillaz<\/a> album is on the horizon<\/a>. On Thursday, the Damon Albarn-created group announced that it will drop a 15-track collaborative album, titled The Mountain, on March 20, 2026, featuring stars from across the globe. To celebrate the news, the band released \u201cThe Happy Dictator\u201d featuring Sparks.<\/p>\n

\n\tEach of the songs features at least one collaborator, and will feature artists singing in Arabic, Hindi, Spanish, and Yoruba. Idles is featured on \u201cThe God of Lying.\u201d Argentinian DJ Bizarrap<\/a> joins Kara Jackson and Anoushka Shankar on \u201cOrange County,\u201d and Argentine rapper Trueno<\/a> will appear with Proof on \u201cThe Manifesto.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tA press release for the record described The Mountain as a \u201cplaylist for a party on the border between this world and whatever happens next, exploring the journey of life and the thrill of existence.\u201d The album was recorded at Studio 13 in London, along with cities in India, Miami, Ashgabat, Damascus, and New York. The album is the first under their indie record label, Kong.<\/p>\n

\n\tAlong with the album, the band will tour the United Kingdom and Ireland in March, with stops in Manchester, Glasgow, Leeds, Liverpool, Belfast, and Dublin. Then, the band will perform in June at London\u2019s Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Trueno will join the band as an opener for most dates.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Mountain is the first studio album since 2023\u2019s Cracker Island,<\/a> which featured collaborations with artists such as Stevie Nicks, Tame Impala, Bad Bunny, and Beck.<\/p>\n
