LONDON \u2014 European stocks are expected to open in mixed territory on Thursday as regional investors await more corporate earnings, the latest growth data and a European Central Bank rate decision.<\/p>\n

The U.K.’s FTSE<\/a> index is seen opening 0.2% lower, Germany’s DAX<\/a> 0.18% higher and France’s CAC 40<\/a> and Italy’s FTSE MIB<\/a> are seen around the flatline this morning, according to data from IG.<\/p>\n

It’s another busy day for earnings on Thursday with third-quarter results coming from TotalEnergies<\/a>, ING Groep<\/a>, Volkswagen<\/a>, Cr\u00e9dit Agricole<\/a>, Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 G\u00e9n\u00e9rale<\/a>, Anheuser-Busch InBev<\/a>, Shell<\/a>, BBVA<\/a> and Schneider Electric<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Data releases include flash euro zone third quarter GDP (due at 10am London time) and unemployment figures, as well as inflation data from Spain and Germany.<\/p>\n

The European Central Bank is also due to announce its latest interest rate decision on Thursday, although economists have branded it a “non event” given the bank is highly likely to keep its key interest rate, the deposit facility rate, steady at 2%.<\/p>\n

Trump, Xi and the Fed<\/p>\n

Global markets were also assessing the in-person meeting between U.S. President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping in Asia on Thursday.<\/p>\n

Trump said he had reached a one-year agreement with Xi<\/a> on rare earths and other critical minerals, and that Washington will cut fentanyl-related tariffs on Beijing to 10%\u00a0after their meeting in South Korea.<\/p>\n
