Megyn Kelly ripped apart Sydney Sweeney\u2019s showstopping silver corset dress<\/a> after the sheer style went viral.<\/p>\n

\u201cI object to this,\u201d the conservative commentator, 54, told viewers on her talk show<\/a> Thursday. \u201cI disapprove of the dress because it\u2019s completely see-through.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kelly pointed out that she can \u201csee [Sweeney\u2019s] entire\u201d chest in the Christian Cowan gown, which the actress wore to Variety\u2019s Power of Women event on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

The political commentator said she \u201cobject[s]\u201d and \u201cdisapprove[s]\u201d of the Christian Cowan-designed gown. WireImage<\/p>\n

After praising the 28-year-old\u2019s \u2018 \u201cNo. 1 assets\u201d as \u201cenormous\u201d and \u201cspectacular,\u201d Kelly compared Sweeney to Kim Kardashian.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe \u2026 overshares and then takes away the thing that is the sexiest, which is every guy\u2019s hope to be the one who actually sees them for real, and leaving a little to the imagination,\u201d the journalist explained.<\/p>\n

Kelly clarified, however, that she is \u201ca Sydney Sweeney fan.\u201d<\/p>\n

The \u201cMegyn Kelly Show\u201d host speculated that perhaps the \u201cvery young\u201d Emmy nominee was \u201cmisled\u201d into wearing the headline-making design.<\/p>\n

\u201cI guarantee you, somebody brought the dress to her and was like, \u2018Now we\u2019ll take it next level,’\u201d Kelly theorized. \u201cAnd she trusted the wrong person, and before you knew it, we had all seen it.\u201d<\/p>\n

She referred to the gown as a \u201crare misstep,\u201d noting that she recently backed Sweeney when the \u201cWhite Lotus\u201d alum caused controversy with her American Eagle \u201cGreat Jeans\u201d ad<\/a>.<\/p>\n

One netizen claimed the dress didn\u2019t \u201cempower but overpower,\u201d while another added, \u201cShe\u2019s \u2026 wearing a dress that puts her body on display more than her message.\u201d<\/p>\n

While Sweeney has not spoken out against the backlash, the \u201cAnyone But You\u201d star did post a series of Instagram snaps<\/a> in the dress on Thursday, from red carpet photos to mirror selfies.<\/p>\n

\u201cthe power of women,\u201d the \u201cEuphoria\u201d star captioned the upload.<\/p>\n

Katy Perry, AJ McLean and Jessie James Decker all gushed over her dress in the comments, while followers dubbed it \u201cabsolutely beautiful,\u201d \u201cstunning\u201d and \u201cgorgeous.\u201d<\/p>\n
