Seecheran\u00a0said the list of CDAP drugs was extended on October 1 and includes medicines to treat glaucoma.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCurrently the list of CDAP medicines include Timolol Maleate 0.5 per cent and Pilocarpine two per cent as well as Pilocarpine four per cent for the treatment of glaucoma.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He said the ministry\u2019s CDAP technical committee \u201ccontinues to review the list of medicines inclusive those that are available for glaucoma to ensure greater management and control of chronic NCDs (non-communicable diseases).\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Seecheran told senators Health Minister Dr Lackram Bodoe formed the committee on June 5, \u201cwith a mandate in the first instance to review the list of CDAP items to ensure cost effectiveness as well as clinical alignment with the clinical practice guidelines and thereby to modernise the medications that are available on CDAP.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He said the committee \u201chas developed a methodology on a clinical review of all identified disease states in accordance with the World Health Organisation (WHO) as well as the National Institute of Health and Care Excellence as well as the National Disease Burden Profiles.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Murray asked Seecheran if the Ophthalmological Society was consulted about the inclusion of these glaucoma drugs on the CDAP list of medicines.<\/p>\n<p>In response, Seecheran said,\u201dThis is an ongoing process and we will in the future consider reaching out to Ophthalmologic Society and consultants with the view of modernizing the drugs but also we have to take in consideration the cost effectiveness of procuring these drugs and the cost analysis benefit to the CDAP.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Earlier in the sitting, Labour Minister Leroy Baptiste assured Independent Senator Alicia Lalite-Ettienne that government is doing its best to ensure that people with disabilities are able to access jobs.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEvery position is open to people with disabilities.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"News Clint Chan Tack 3 Hrs Ago Minister in the Ministry of Health Dr Rishad Seecheran. &#8211; File&hellip;\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":108263,"comment_status":"","ping_status":"","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[33],"tags":[163,85,46,482],"class_list":{"0":"post-108262","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-medication","8":"tag-health","9":"tag-il","10":"tag-israel","11":"tag-medication"},"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/108262","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/2"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=108262"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/108262\/revisions"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/108263"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=108262"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=108262"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=108262"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
