\n\tKorea\u2019s\u00a0CJ ENM<\/a> Hong Kong\u00a0is partnering with Taiwanese telco Far EasTone Telecom, broadcaster TVBS and Taiwan Creative Content Agency<\/a> (TAICCA<\/a>) to launch a $30M (NTD960M) fund to invest in Mandarin-language content.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe new five-year Taiwan-Korea \u2018Enjoy Entertainment Fund\u2019\u00a0will invest in IP exchange and Mandarin-language content production and investment, supporting any formats that showcase local Taiwanese and Korean narratives; as well as talent development and distribution of finished contents locally and internationally.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tThe fund\u2019s launch ceremony took place today at Taiwan Creative Content Fest (TCCF<\/a>), attended by Taiwan\u2019s Minister of Culture Li Yuan; along with Sean Cho, Executive Vice President, Head of Global Business Division CJ ENM; Sheena Liu, President of TVBS; and Chee Ching, President of Far EasTone Telecom.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThis fund embodies our belief that cross-border collaboration is the key to making Asian content global,\u201d said Cho in his opening address.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cIn the long-term, our\u00a0vision is to empower Taiwanese IP to travel beyond borders, fostering new corporate productions, adaptations and remakes that allow Taiwan\u2019s unique stories to resonate worldwide. What makes this fund even more meaningful is its mission to revitalize Taiwan\u2019s creative ecosystem, not just through production support, but by nurturing talent, fostering co-productions, and building sustainable creative partnerships rooted in Taiwan\u2019s deeply resonated IPs and rich cultural heritage.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tCJ ENM is already forming a global footprint through distribution of its Korean content internationally, through its investment in Fifth Season in North America and via partnerships with major players in Japan.\u00a0CJ ENM Hong Kong, which has offices in Hong Kong and Singapore, is already involved in producing content in various languages across Southeast Asia.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tThe alliance with Taiwanese partners aims to combine the core strengths of each partner beyond monetary contributions: CJ ENM HK\u2019s international production and distribution network, TAICCA\u2019s local IP and industry knowledge, FET\u2019s digital innovation and technology capabilities, and TVBS\u2019s broad media reach and production expertise.<\/p>\n
