Given to an individual whose style made a significant, international impact on the industry and broader popular culture, the honor was first introduced back in 2002, and has since been presented to the likes of Lady Gaga, Kate Moss, Nicole Kidman, Zendaya, Serena Williams, Beyonc\u00e9, Jennifer Lopez, Naomi Campbell, and more. However, the most notable past recipient, to Rocky at least, was none other than Rihanna<\/a>\u2014who showed up to cheer on her beau in a surprise appearance this evening. <\/p>\n

In a monumental CFDA first, the couple became the first to have both received the honor, and celebrated accordingly by making the red carpet a sweet date night. The 2025 Icon picked out a Chanel<\/a> suit for the occasion, with a butter yellow V-neck knit layered under an oversized dark gray jacket, rolled up to reveal a white lining. On his feet, two-tone cap-toe loafers brought the hues together, and for jewelry, he went for chunky diamonds and a gold necklace. To match, Rihanna went with a navy blue Ala\u00efa<\/a> trench and funky white trousers that tucked into her heels. <\/p>\n
