A Bengaluru-based tech professional\u2019s bold career move has become an inspiring tale of risk and reinvention. Pradeep Kannan, who once served as Operations Head at Oracle India<\/a>, left behind what he described as the \u201cperfect 9-to-5 life\u201d \u2014 a stable income, comfortable routine, and settled family life \u2014 to sell falooda and ice cream in his hometown, Karur, Tamil Nadu.<\/p>\n

In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), Kannan recalled that his decision to quit a secure job in 2019 was met with disbelief. \u201cEveryone told me I had the perfect routine: a corporate job, a good salary, and a settled family life. But I knew I wanted to build something of my own, so I resigned and went back to Karur to start a falooda ice-cream shop. People thought I had lost my mind,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n

Pradeep Kannan began as Assistant Manager in Operations at Celebrity Fashions<\/a> in Chennai, then worked in supply chain management with Al Seer in Dubai. After returning to India, he joined Genpact in Bengaluru as a Business Analyst and later spent six years at Oracle, where he became Operations Head before quitting in 2019 to pursue entrepreneurship.<\/p>\n
