Businessman Sunjay Kapur died in June this year from a heart attack<\/a> after a bee sting during a polo match in the United Kingdom. His passing has led to a legal and personal dispute within his family over his estimated Rs 30,000 crore estate. Sunjay\u2019s children from his marriage to Karisma Kapoor, Samaira and Kiaan, have accused his third wife<\/a>, Priya Sachdeva Kapur, of forging their father\u2019s will. In an interview now, Kapur’s sister, Mandhira Kapur Smith, praised Karisma and the upbringing she’s given to her children.<\/p>\n

Publicly supporting Karisma and her children amid the legal dispute, Mandhira called her a close friend. Speaking to NDTV, she shared, \u201cPriya ne mujhse doori banayi, Lolo meri sabse achi dost hai. (Priya Sachdev isolated me; Lolo [Karisma Kapoor] is my best friend).”<\/p>\n

Mandhira praised Karisma for raising Samaira and Kiaan, saying, \u201cMeri bhateeji aur bhatije, Samaira aur Kiaan, ko Karishma ne jis tarah se paala hai, us par mujhe bohot garv hai… (I am very proud of the way Karisma has raised my niece and nephew, Samaira and Kiaan. Whenever I speak to them, and they tell me about their lives and what they are doing, I feel extremely proud).”<\/p>\n

Mandhira earlier claimed that their mother was made to sign papers by board members of Sona Comstar, Sunjay\u2019s company, while still mourning her son. Mandhira told News18, \u201cI was there, banging on the door, not knowing what was going on. I know the doors were locked. My mother told me. She was in a grieving space. She did not know what was going on. I spoke to her, she told me, \u2018I have signed something. I did what I was told. I don\u2019t know what I have signed\u2019. She was very upset. Since then, we have been trying to find out what my mother signed. We are not getting any answers.\u201d<\/p>\n

She expressed that her mother\u2019s position in the dispute has deeply affected the family. She remarked, \u201cFor me to see how my mother today, everything being stolen from her, is personal. All of us were taught to look after our mother. It was inbuilt in us. It is very personal.\u201d<\/p>\n

The legal case is ongoing, with the court instructing Priya Sachdeva Kapur to declare all assets <\/a>belonging to her late husband. The main issue remains the contested will and who will ultimately inherit the late businessman\u2019s estate. The family continues to seek clarification regarding documents signed after Kapur\u2019s passing.<\/p>\n
