\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n\n\t\u201cHarry Potter\u201d is coming to life in two major ways: HBO\u2019s upcoming TV series and Audible\u2019s narrated audiobooks of all seven of J.K. Rowling\u2019s novels.<\/p>\n
\n\tThe HBO series is still more than a year away, but Audible\u2019s version of \u201cHarry Potter and the Sorcerer\u2019s Stone\u201d will be released on Nov. 4. Each subsequent book will be released a month apart, culminating with \u201cDeathly Hallows\u201d on May 12. <\/p>\n
\n\tWhile HBO\u2019s and Audible\u2019s casts are both star-studded (and share one key actor), Audible could focus on the voice of each performer rather than find someone who looked like Rowling\u2019s characters from the books. Audible also split up some of the Hogwarts students to give them a young voice for \u201cSorcerer\u2019s Stone,\u201d \u201cChamber of Secrets\u201d and \u201cPrisoner of Azkaban,\u201d then replace them with an older actor for \u201cGoblet of Fire,\u201d \u201cOrder of the Phoenix,\u201d \u201cHalf Blood Prince\u201d and \u201cDeathly Hallows.\u201d<\/p>\n
\n\tFrankie Treadaway, Max Lester and Arabella Stanton star as Harry, Ron and Hermione in the first three books, with Jaxon Knopf, Rhys Mulligan and Nina Barker-Francis taking over for the final four. Notably, Stanton was also cast as Hermione in HBO\u2019s series, giving listers of the Audible books a sneak peek at what her performance will be like in live-action.<\/p>\n
\n\tAudible\u2019s Hogwarts is filled with more than 200 actors and many big-name Hollywood stars. Hugh Laurie plays Dumbledore, Matthew Macfadyen is Voldemort, Riz Ahmed is Snape, Kit Harington is Gilderoy Lockhart, Keira Knightley is Dolores Umbridge and James McAvoy is Mad-Eye Moody.<\/p>\n

The young actor possesses a diverse portfolio with an acting role in \u201cThe Fantastic Four: First Steps\u201d to stage credits in \u201cLes Mis\u00e9rables\u201d and \u201cLeopoldstadt.\u201d He has also lent his voice to animations such as \u201cBest Birthday Ever\u201d and \u201cBarbapapa,\u201d as well as the BBC Radio 4 comedy series \u201cHennikay.\u201d Alastair Stout is set to play Ron on the HBO series.<\/p>\n

Stanton debuted as Matilda in \u201cMatilda the Musical\u201d and went on to perform in \u201cStarlight Express\u201d before joining the fantasy franchise.<\/p>\n

Dumbledore was first played by Richard Harris, who died before the third movie filmed and was recast with Michael Gambon. \n\tHarry\u2019s nemesis, Draco Malfoy, comes from a long lineage of pure-blooded wizards, finding himself sorted into the Slytherin house. He becomes the Professor of Defense Against the Dark Arts at the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, where Harry and other Hogwarts students found him to be obnoxious and full of himself. Harington previously starred as Jon Snow in HBO\u2019s \u201cGame of Thrones\u201d and also appeared in Marvel\u2019s \u201cEternals.\u201d Kenneth Branagh played Lockhart in the movies.<\/p>\n
\tProfessor Umbridge (Keira Knightley)<\/p>\n

\n\tThe colorful Dolores Umbridge served as the Senior Undersecretary to the Ministry of Magic, later becoming installed as the Defense Against The Dark Arts Professor at Hogwarts. Knightley is known for her work in films like \u201cPirates of the Caribbean,\u201d \u201cAtonement,\u201d \u201cPride and Prejudice,\u201d and Netflix\u2019s \u201cBlack Doves\u201d series. Imelda Staunton played Umbridge in the movies.<\/p>\n

He then appears sporadically throughout the successive books. Dobby was created as a CGI puppet in the films and voiced by Toby Jones. In the new audiobooks, Daniel Mays from \u201cMrs. Biggs,\u201d \u201cThe Thursday Murder Club\u201d and \u201cEastEnders\u201d will lend his voice to the unique character.<\/p>\n

A woman of uncertain abilities, Professor Trelawney spends more time talking about her magical premonitions that actually experiencing them. However, she does showcase real powers on a few key occasions. Emma Thompson played Professor Trelawney in the films. <\/p>\n

Sharon Sandhu played Padma in \u201cThe Prisoner of Azkaban\u201d movie before Afshan Azad took over the role in \u201cGoblet of Fire\u201d and beyond. An extremely tenured professor with regretful ties to Voldemort\u2019s past, Slughorn plays a crucial role in the saga\u2019s final act. Bill Nighy will voice the character, marking the actor\u2019s return to the Wizarding World, as he played Minister of Magic Rufus Scrimgeour on screen in \u201cHarry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1.\u201d Jim Broadbent played Slughorn in the films.<\/p>\n

An accident on the set of the seventh film left him partially paralyzed, though he still received credit as a stunt performer. Though Cadogan can only be caught as a fleeting background figure in the \u201cPotter\u201d movies, he has ample dialogue in the books. Comedian Matt Berry from \u201cWhat We Do in the Shadows,\u201d \u201cThe IT Crowd\u201d and \u201cA Minecraft Movie\u201d lends his voice to the hilariously overzealous character.<\/p>\n
