YouTube TV appears to have offered a $60 credit on accounts of some users following the platform\u2019s contract dispute with Disney.<\/p>\n
On Oct. 30, YouTube TV pulled over 20 Disney-owned channels, including ABC and ESPN, from its lineup as the companies failed to reach a contract agreement. <\/p>\n
In the meantime, YouTube TV said<\/a> it will offer subscribers a $20 credit if Disney\u2019s content is unavailable for \u201can extended period of time.\u201d<\/p>\n YouTube TV spokesperson Jess Gibby told<\/a> USA TODAY that any new credits on subscribers\u2019 accounts \u201care not related to the Disney dispute.\u201d<\/p>\n READ MORE: ABC, ESPN and more are still unavailable on YouTube TV, here\u2019s other streaming platforms to try<\/a><\/p>\n \u201cThese are for subscribers who previously cancelled or paused their subscriptions. The $20 credit has not yet been issued,\u201d Gibby said.<\/p>\n Reports of account credits appeared on Reddit but not every YouTube TV user has received it.<\/p>\n Some YouTube TV subscribers have discovered an offer for a $10 credit toward their monthly subscription.<\/p>\n To check if you have the offer, log in to your YouTube TV account on desktop, go to \u2018Settings,\u2019 select \u2018Membership\u2019 and then \u2018Manage Plan.\u2019 If you are eligible, a message will appear that says \u2018Redeem your offer.<\/p>\n Only users who have previously canceled or paused their subscription will see the message in their account. <\/p>\n YouTube TV has yet to issue the $20 credit it said it would offer subscribers if Disney content continues to be unavailable. The company told USA TODAY it will alert subscribers when the offer is available.<\/p>\n The dispute between the two companies emerged when YouTube TV said<\/a> Disney proposed \u201ccostly economic terms that would raise prices on YouTube TV customers and give our customers fewer choices.\u201d <\/p>\n In its defense, Disney said YouTube TV parent company Google \u201cis using its market dominance to eliminate competition and undercut the industry-standard terms we\u2019ve successfully negotiated with every other distributor,\u201d according to USA TODAY.<\/p>\n If you purchase a product or register for an account through a link on our site, we may receive compensation.
