SMASHRx, located at 21272 Great Mills Road, Suite C & D, has officially opened its doors, offering a one-of-a-kind experience that combines stress relief, creativity, and community healing.

The concept is simple yet powerful. Guests step into themed “rage rooms” where they can safely smash, break, and destroy objects to release built-up stress and emotion. From glass bottles to old electronics, every swing of the bat helps guests let go of the weight of the world in a safe, controlled environment.

But SMASHRx is about more than breaking things — it’s about healing through chaos. Owners Christina and Eric Wood Sr., a husband-and-wife team from Southern Maryland, created SMASHRx to give people a space to release, reset, and rebuild emotionally and mentally.

“This isn’t about anger,” said Christina. “It’s about release. It’s about finding peace through letting go — whether that’s smashing a plate or throwing paint on a wall.”

In addition to its rage rooms, guests can enjoy paint-splatter sessions, where families, couples, and friends can create colorful, messy art together — and even wear it home. The business will also debut an Escape Room and a Virtual Reality Omni Experience in early 2026, expanding the ways guests can de-stress and connect.

The mission behind SMASHRx goes beyond fun — it’s rooted in healing and hope. That message came to life on opening day, when a guest’s young daughter signed her name on the wall after her family finished a rage session. The name was Ellie Mae — the same as Christina’s beloved grandmother, who passed away more than 20 years ago in a tragic car accident caused by a drunk driver in Calvert County.

Eric and Christina Wood – Owners of SMASHRx

“When I saw that name on the wall, I stopped in my tracks,” Christina shared. Her grandmother was “the glue” that held their family together — and that single moment reminded her exactly why she and Eric opened SMASHRx.

“Grieving can be released in many ways,” Christina said. “For me, it’s right here in this building. Every time someone walks in, lets go, and leaves a little lighter — that’s healing happening, and that alone brings me so much peace.”

Through their “Healing Through Chaos (HTC)” nonprofit initiative, Christina and Eric plan to collaborate with local mental-health organizations, host charity drives, and give back to the community that has supported their journey.

That spirit of giving is already in motion — SMASHRx is proudly serving as an official Toys for Tots drop-off location this holiday season. For Christina and Eric, giving back isn’t just good business — it’s personal.

“Our family is more than just small business owners,” the team said. “We knew what it was like to need help years ago and we promised ourselves that as we grew and became able, we would always give back. SMASHRx and HTC is our way to do just that.”

The Grand Opening & Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony will take place on Saturday, November 29, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., featuring local vendors, food, music, raffles, and a special photo opportunity with The Grinch, courtesy of Savvy Selfies. The public is invited to celebrate this milestone event and experience the newest destination for fun and healing in St. Mary’s County.

“We built this for the people — for families, for friends, and for anyone who needs a break from life’s chaos,” Christina said. “It’s about laughter, healing, and creating memories together.”

⸻

SMASHRx
📍 21272 Great Mills Rd, Suite C & D, Great Mills, MD 20634
📅 Grand Opening: November 29, 2025 | 10 AM – 4 PM
🌐 https://smashmd.com
📞 (443) 404-0375
📧 info@smashmd.com
📱 Follow on Facebook, TikTok, YouTube & Instagram: @smashrx_md

Related

SMASHRx opens in Lexington Park, MD.
