Content from Disney, which owns ESPN and ABC, was pulled from YouTube TV after a carriage agreement expired on Thursday.<\/p>\n

YouTube TV<\/a> is offering its subscribers a $20 credit amid its ongoing contract dispute with Disney.<\/a><\/p>\n

“We know it\u2019s been disappointing to lose Disney content, and we want you to know we deeply appreciate your patience. In light of the disruption, we\u2019re offering our subscribers a $20 credit,” YouTube TV said in an email to subscribers on Nov. 9.<\/p>\n

Disney-owned channels, including ESPN and ABC, were pulled from YouTube TV<\/a> on Oct. 30 after the companies could not reach\u00a0a new contractual agreement<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Disney executives said in a Nov. 7 note to employees<\/a> that it had made concessions in the negotiations, including offering YouTube TV a deal “that would cost\u00a0less\u00a0overall than the terms of our recently expired license.”<\/p>\n

YouTube TV, which is owned by Google,\u00a0has accused<\/a>\u00a0Disney of proposing “costly economic terms that would raise prices on YouTube TV customers and give our customers fewer choices.”<\/p>\n

Nonetheless, YouTube TV’s latest message to subscribers reiterated that it is “working in good faith to negotiate a deal with Disney.” Here’s what to know about redeeming the credit.<\/p>\n

How to redeem the YouTube TV $20 credit<\/p>\n

When the Disney content outage began, YouTube TV\u00a0said\u00a0<\/a>it would offer subscribers the credit if the Disney channels remain unavailable for an “extended period of time.”<\/p>\n

As of Nov. 9, YouTube TV said<\/a> primary account holders \u2014 also known as family managers \u2014 would receive an email in the following days detailing how to access the credit.<\/p>\n

Here’s how to redeem it<\/a>:<\/p>\n

Go to tv.youtube.com<\/a> on web browser and sign in. The credit is not accessible on YouTube TV’s mobile app.Select your profile picture.Select\u00a0Settings.In the left menu, select\u00a0Updates<\/a>.Select\u00a0Claim credit.<\/p>\n

Once claimed, you\u2019ll see a message confirming that the credit will be applied towards your next bill.<\/p>\n

If you’re billed through Google Play or another external provider (not through YouTube TV directly), the credit will be applied to your account automatically. To confirm how you\u2019re billed, go to the\u00a0Billing tab<\/a>.<\/p>\n
