\n\tA short-but-sweet teaser trailer for The Devil Wears Prada 2<\/a> shows the return of Meryl Streep<\/a> and Anne Hathaway<\/a> to their iconic roles. <\/p>\n

\n\tThe first footage (below) shows Streep\u2019s Miranda and Hathaway\u2019s Andy meeting in an elevator. Not shown are co-stars Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci, who also reprise their roles from the 2006 fashion comedy.<\/p>\n

\n\tIn the footage, Miranda quips to Andy: \u201cTook you long enough,\u201d which both tracks with her demanding character and is a reference to fans waiting 19 years for sequel.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tA little over a year ago, Hathaway was casting doubt on the prospect of the film even happening, telling a reporter<\/a> in April, 2024, \u201cI wouldn\u2019t hold out too much hope.\u201d And in 2002, the actress told The View, \u201cI don\u2019t know if there can be [a sequel]. I just think that movie was in a different era, you know?\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tThe film returns \u201cto the fashionable streets of New York\u00a0City\u00a0and the\u00a0sleek offices of Runway Magazine\u201d and\u00a0is directed by David Frankel and written by\u00a0Aline Brosh\u00a0McKenna. New characters are played by Kenneth Branagh, Simone Ashley, Justin Theroux, Lucy Liu, Patrick Brammall, Caleb Hearon, Helen J. Shen, Pauline Chalamet, B.J. Novak and Conrad Ricamora.<\/p>\n

\n\tSydney Sweeney was also reportedly spotted<\/a> on set, but no role for the Euphoria actress has been announced or confirmed. <\/p>\n

\n\tTracie Thoms and Tibor Feldman also reprise their roles as Lily and Irv from the first film.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe original film starred Hathaway as a recent graduate who scored a job at Vogue-like fashion magazine working under the demanding editor-in-chief Miranda Priestly. The movie was based on Lauren Weisberger\u2019s 2003 novel. Weisberger released a second book, Revenge Wears Prada: The Devil Returns, in 2013. <\/p>\n

\n\tThe Devil Wears Prada 2 is from 20th Century Studios and produced by Wendy\u00a0Finerman, and executive produced by Michael Bederman, Karen Rosenfelt and McKenna.\u00a0<\/p>\n
