When Channel 10\u2019s reboot of Big Brother Australia<\/a>\u00a0was first announced<\/a>, the network promised it would return the reality show to its original format. This included live nominations, live evictions, 24\/7 streaming, \u2018real\u2019 contestants having honest conversations<\/a>, and filming taking place in Dreamworld on the Gold Coast.<\/p>\n

While most of these promises have been delivered, viewers were left disappointed watching Wednesday night\u2019s episode when the housemates participated in nominations. Instead of being live, the show aired pre-recorded footage from earlier in the day of each contestant going to the diary room to reveal who they were nominating.<\/p>\n

Host Mel Tracina then crossed live to the house at the very end of the episode when Big Brother announced the three contestants up for eviction: Jane, Holly, and Michael.<\/p>\n

Many viewers took to social media throughout the episode to complain about Channel 10\u2019s format change, especially as \u2018live nominations\u2019 have been a selling point since the reboot was first announced last year.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m confused about how this is a live nominations if they\u2019ve already done the nominations,\u201d one person wrote.<\/p>\n

\u201cI wish the nominations were actually live,\u201d another added, while someone else said: \u201cWait. Didn\u2019t they advertise live nominations for weeks and months now?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cSo #BBAU can\u2019t even be bothered to do the nominations live. Why how come? It doesn’t take forever if the HMs give real reasons,\u201d a different user replied.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, others said that having the housemates record their nominations before the live show is \u201cthe superior way of doing it\u201d as it doesn\u2019t rush the process.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe actual live nominations became tedious with Big Brother rushing [housemates] and pushing them to fit their narrative,\u201d one viewer commented.<\/p>\n

Channel 10 confirms major change to reboot<\/p>\n

This comes shortly after 10\u2019s executive producer Sarah Thornton confirmed there would be no Big Brother Uncut<\/a>\u00a0\u2014 a companion program that showcased adult content at a later time slot \u2014 or Friday Night Games.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s no Friday Night Games, but we do have some excitement in store for Friday night that I think will appeal to the viewers who love Friday Night Games,\u201d she told TV Tonight<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Sarah explained that the livestream, which will be on delay so producers can watch out for defamation or classification, won\u2019t be \u201cover-produced\u201d, but will still be \u201creflective of the values of the main show\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019ll be flashes of people hopping into showers and stuff. But that\u2019s not the focus of the live stream by any means,\u201d she detailed.<\/p>\n
