However, when several insiders are buying, like in the case of Wickes Group plc (LON:WIX), it sends a favourable message to the company’s shareholders.

Although we don’t think shareholders should simply follow insider transactions, we would consider it foolish to ignore insider transactions altogether.

<a href="https://simplywall.st/discover/investing-ideas/434616/us-dividend-powerhouses-with-a-forecast-yield-of-6percent/global?blueprint=4211800&utm_medium=finance_user&utm_campaign=investing-ideas&utm_source=yahoo&utm_content=dividend-forecast-yield-6pcnt" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" data-ylk="slk:We've found 21 US stocks that are forecast to pay a dividend yield of over 6% next year. We do like to see buying, but this purchase was made at well below the current price of UK£2.15. Because the shares were purchased at a lower price, this particular buy doesn’t tell us much about how insiders feel about the current share price.

In the last twelve months Wickes Group insiders were buying shares, but not selling. You can see a visual depiction of insider transactions (by companies and individuals) over the last 12 months, below. By clicking on the graph below, you can see the precise details of each insider transaction!

Check out our latest analysis for Wickes Group

     LSE:WIX Insider Trading Volume November 15th 2025

There are plenty of other companies that have insiders buying up shares. You probably do not want to miss this free list of undervalued small cap companies that insiders are buying.

Over the last three months, we’ve seen a bit of insider buying at Wickes Group. Independent Non-Executive Director Michael Iddon bought UK£30k worth of shares in that time. It’s good to see the insider buying, as well as the lack of recent sellers. But the amount invested in the last three months isn’t enough for us too put much weight on it, as a single factor.

I like to look at how many shares insiders own in a company, to help inform my view of how aligned they are with insiders. A high insider ownership often makes company leadership more mindful of shareholder interests. Our data suggests Wickes Group insiders own 0.4% of the company, worth about UK£1.9m. But they may have an indirect interest through a corporate structure that we haven’t picked up on. We prefer to see high levels of insider ownership.

Our data shows a little insider buying, but no selling, in the last three months. Overall the buying isn’t worth writing home about. But insiders have shown more of an appetite for the stock, over the last year. While we have no worries about the insider transactions, we’d be more comfortable if they owned more Wickes Group stock. While it’s good to be aware of what’s going on with the insider’s ownership and transactions, we make sure to also consider what risks are facing a stock before making any investment decision.
