CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW<\/a>) \u2013 Ascension Saint Thomas<\/a> announced Tuesday that their new, full-service hospital and health campus in Clarksville<\/a> will be part of a $537 million regional investment in Middle Tennessee.<\/p>\n AST\u2019s progress report comes after the Montgomery County Commission\u2019s approval of a resolution that advances financing for local healthcare projects. AST officials told Clarksville Now the approval marks an important step forward for the Ascension Saint Thomas Clarksville Hospital and Health Campus, part of a $537 million regional investment plan to expand access, modernize facilities, and strengthen healthcare for families across Middle Tennessee.<\/p>\n \u201cThe total investment will support project development in Montgomery County, including design, early construction, and continued expansion of services on the future campus,\u201d said the release. \u201cThe commission\u2019s approval allows Ascension Saint Thomas to move forward with financing that will support the initial phases of construction, design, and development for the Clarksville hospital and health campus.\u201d<\/p>\n The release said since the initial announcement in May, AST has continued to build momentum on multiple fronts as they continue to work with community partners and local leaders to bring expanded healthcare access to the region. <\/p>\n This includes gaining momentum on a 40-bed rehabilitation hospital in partnership with Lifepoint Rehabilitation<\/a>, a public-private partnership with Montgomery County to build a new EMS station<\/a>, as well as partnerships with Tennessee Oncology and Tennessee Orthopedic Alliance<\/a>, two of the state\u2019s leading physician groups, who will provide specialized cancer, orthopedic, and surgical care to the new campus.<\/p>\n Preparing to serve residents for generations<\/p>\n \u201cThese projects demonstrate our continued commitment to the community and represent another important step in expanding access to care,\u201d said Fahad Tahir, president and CEO of Ascension Saint Thomas.<\/p>\n \u201cWe are deeply grateful for the support and partnership of Montgomery County leaders in helping make this vision a reality.
